This artwork by Jackson Pollock achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in April this year. In the The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples auction, the work Untitled (P19) sold for USD 16,380.00 (€ 14,836.96) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jackson Pollock achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Number 17, 1951 in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 61,161,000.00 (€ 54,187,117.92).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jackson Pollock erzielte im April diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples wurde die Arbeit Untitled (P19) für USD 16.380,00 (€ 14.836,96) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jackson Pollock erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Number 17, 1951 im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 61.161.000,00 (€ 54.187.117,92).
