The work Composition with Varied Forms by Jackson Pollock was sold in the A Century of Art: The Gerald Fineberg Collection Part I auction at Christies in New York in May this year. It achieved a price of USD 1,683,500.00 (€ 1,580,157.69), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 40%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jackson Pollock achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Number 17, 1951 in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 61,161,000.00 (€ 54,187,117.92).

Die Arbeit Composition with Varied Forms von Jackson Pollock wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion A Century of Art: The Gerald Fineberg Collection Part I bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 1.683.500,00 (€ 1.580.157,69) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 40%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jackson Pollock erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Number 17, 1951 im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 61.161.000,00 (€ 54.187.117,92).
