This artwork by Ian Davenport achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in April 2021. In the Important Prints & Multiples: Part II auction, the work Poured Triptych Etching: Ambassadors (After Holbein) sold for USD 37,800.00 (€ 31,421.45) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ian Davenport - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Poured Lines: Dark Cobalt Study, which sold at auction in March 2021 for GBP 81,250.00 (€ 95,447.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ian Davenport erzielte im April 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Prints & Multiples: Part II wurde die Arbeit Poured Triptych Etching: Ambassadors (After Holbein) für USD 37.800,00 (€ 31.421,45) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ian Davenport mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Poured Lines: Dark Cobalt Study beobachtet, die im März 2021 für GBP 81.250,00 (€ 95.447,82) versteigert wurde.
