Auction result well in line with expectations
In January this year Phillips in London held the auction Evening & Day Editions, which included the work Venetian Red by Ian Davenport. It changed hands for a price of GBP 5,670.00 (€ 6,435.54) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ian Davenport achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poured Lines: Dark Cobalt Study in March 2021 with an auction result of GBP 81,250.00 (€ 95,447.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar diesen Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion Evening & Day Editions durch, in der auch die Arbeit Venetian Red von Ian Davenport zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 5.670,00 (€ 6.435,54) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ian Davenport erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Poured Lines: Dark Cobalt Study im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 81.250,00 (€ 95.447,82).
