Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Hugo McCloud was auctioned at Phillips in New York in May this year. The price achieved of USD 25,400.00 (€ 23,840.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hugo McCloud - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work To Be Titled, 2014, which sold at auction in September 2021 for USD 75,312.50 (€ 65,053.55).

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Hugo McCloud kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 25.400,00 (€ 23.840,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Hugo McCloud mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit To Be Titled, 2014 beobachtet, die im September 2021 für USD 75.312,50 (€ 65.053,55) versteigert wurde.
