The work The New Yorker (D. 135) by Howard Cook was sold in the Prints auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2011. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,170.00), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Howard Cook have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fog Patterns #2 in March 2019 with an auction result of USD 47,500.00 (€ 42,304.95).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit The New Yorker (D. 135) von Howard Cook wurde im Oktober 2011 in der Auktion Prints bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 7.170,00) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Howard Cook auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fog Patterns #2 im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 42.304,95).
