This artwork by Harold Ancart achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in April this year. In the Editions & Works on Paper auction, the work Untitled (Purple Flame) sold for USD 4,445.00 (€ 4,026.27) - well above the upper estimate of USD 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Harold Ancart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 1,018,500.00 (€ 835,246.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 78 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Harold Ancart erzielte im April diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Purple Flame) für USD 4.445,00 (€ 4.026,27) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 2.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Harold Ancart erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.018.500,00 (€ 835.246,84).
