Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Gunther Gerzso could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Day Auction auction, the work Región blanca changed hands for USD 113,400.00 (€ 105,675.15) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gunther Gerzso have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Paisaje legendario (Azul y naranja) in May last year with an auction result of USD 529,200.00 (€ 493,150.68).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gunther Gerzso konnte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Day Auction wechselte die Arbeit Región blanca für USD 113.400,00 (€ 105.675,15) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gunther Gerzso auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Paisaje legendario (Azul y naranja) im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 529.200,00 (€ 493.150,68).
