Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Rojo Azul Amarillo by Gunther Gerzso was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in December last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 21,675.00 (€ 20,260.80). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gunther Gerzso achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Paisaje legendario (Azul y naranja) in May last year with an auction result of USD 529,200.00 (€ 493,150.68).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Rojo Azul Amarillo von Gunther Gerzso im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 21.675,00 (€ 20.260,80) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gunther Gerzso erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Paisaje legendario (Azul y naranja) im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 529.200,00 (€ 493.150,68).
