Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Azul-Ocre-Rojo-Verde by Gunther Gerzso was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2021. The price achieved of USD 226,800.00 (€ 185,993.11) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gunther Gerzso - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Paisaje legendario (Azul y naranja), which sold at auction in May last year for USD 529,200.00 (€ 493,150.68).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Azul-Ocre-Rojo-Verde von Gunther Gerzso kam im Mai 2021 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 226.800,00 (€ 185.993,11) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Gunther Gerzso mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Paisaje legendario (Azul y naranja) beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 529.200,00 (€ 493.150,68) versteigert wurde.
