Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tracks: Green Sky by Graham Nickson was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 12,868.23) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Graham Nickson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bather On Reflection, which sold at auction in February 2007 for USD 45,600.00 (€ 34,467.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Tracks: Green Sky von Graham Nickson kam im September 2014 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 12.868,23) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Graham Nickson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bather On Reflection beobachtet, die im Februar 2007 für USD 45.600,00 (€ 34.467,12) versteigert wurde.
