This artwork by Graham Nickson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in October 2018. In the The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints auction, the work Thimble Island Sunset sold for USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,867.98) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Graham Nickson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bather On Reflection in February 2007 with an auction result of USD 45,600.00 (€ 34,467.12).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Graham Nickson erzielte im Oktober 2018 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints wurde die Arbeit Thimble Island Sunset für USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.867,98) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Graham Nickson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bather On Reflection im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 45.600,00 (€ 34.467,12).
