Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Curated, which included the work Watcher by Graham Nickson. The price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 9,073.09) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Graham Nickson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bather On Reflection, which sold at auction in February 2007 for USD 45,600.00 (€ 34,467.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2014 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Curated durch, in der auch die Arbeit Watcher von Graham Nickson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 9.073,09) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Graham Nickson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bather On Reflection beobachtet, die im Februar 2007 für USD 45.600,00 (€ 34.467,12) versteigert wurde.
