The work Rehno Vate by Gladys Nilsson was sold in the Contemporary Art auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. The »bidding war« ended at USD 22,680.00 (€ 19,313.63), 51% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Gladys Nilsson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work By a Waterfall ....., 1973 in September last year with an auction result of USD 113,775.00 (€ 116,298.68).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 51 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Rehno Vate von Gladys Nilsson wurde im März 2021 in der Auktion Contemporary Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 22.680,00 (€ 19.313,63) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gladys Nilsson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit By a Waterfall ....., 1973 im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 113.775,00 (€ 116.298,68).
