This artwork by Gladys Nilsson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in November 2020. In the Contemporary Art Day Auction: Online auction, the work Dancing Mandrakes sold for USD 27,720.00 (€ 23,200.54) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gladys Nilsson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work By a Waterfall ....., 1973 in September last year with an auction result of USD 113,775.00 (€ 116,298.68).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gladys Nilsson erzielte im November 2020 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction: Online wurde die Arbeit Dancing Mandrakes für USD 27.720,00 (€ 23.200,54) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gladys Nilsson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit By a Waterfall ....., 1973 im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 113.775,00 (€ 116.298,68).
