Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Gina Beavers could be acquired at Christies in New York in May last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Invisible Lip changed hands for USD 37,800.00 (€ 35,225.05) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Other works by Gina Beavers have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in June last year by the work Lips with Painter’s Lips at HKD 327,600.00 (€ 39,866.50).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Gina Beavers konnte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale wechselte die Arbeit Invisible Lip für USD 37.800,00 (€ 35.225,05) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Gina Beavers wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Juni letzten Jahres die Arbeit Lips with Painter’s Lips mit HKD 327.600,00 (€ 39.866,50).
