Auction result well in line with expectations
The work St. Étienne-du-Mont, No. 2 by George L. K. Morris was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session auction at Phillips in New York in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,160.00 (€ 9,536.32) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George L. K. Morris achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Intrusion in November 2006 with an auction result of USD 144,000.00 (€ 108,589.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit St. Étienne-du-Mont, No. 2 von George L. K. Morris wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.160,00 (€ 9.536,32) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George L. K. Morris erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Intrusion im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 144.000,00 (€ 108.589,10).
