Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2009 a collector was able to acquire the work Requiem For The Met #1 by George L. K. Morris for USD 5,938.00 (€ 4,477.79). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George L. K. Morris achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Intrusion in November 2006 with an auction result of USD 144,000.00 (€ 108,589.10).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2009 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Requiem For The Met #1 von George L. K. Morris für USD 5.938,00 (€ 4.477,79) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Paintings bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George L. K. Morris erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Intrusion im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 144.000,00 (€ 108.589,10).
