Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George L. K. Morris could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in April 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings auction, the work Space Recession changed hands for USD 5,313.00 (€ 3,584.78) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George L. K. Morris achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Intrusion in November 2006 with an auction result of USD 144,000.00 (€ 108,589.10).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von George L. K. Morris konnte im April 2011 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Paintings wechselte die Arbeit Space Recession für USD 5.313,00 (€ 3.584,78) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George L. K. Morris erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Intrusion im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 144.000,00 (€ 108.589,10).
