Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by George L. K. Morris achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Paris in May this year. In the American Art auction, the work Floor-Show sold for USD 64,000.00 (€ 60,071.33) - well above the upper estimate of USD 25,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by George L. K. Morris; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Intrusion sold at auction in November 2006 with the realized price of USD 144,000.00 (€ 108,589.10).
