Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work His Closet by Frank Moore was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,515.35). Admittedly, works by Frank Moore have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Patient in March 2018 with an auction result of USD 62,500.00 (€ 50,730.52).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit His Closet von Frank Moore im Oktober 2018 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.515,35) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frank Moore auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Patient im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 50.730,52).
