In October 2018 Christies in New York held the auction The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints, which included the work Arthur Rothstein "Hayti, Missouri. Cotton Carnival. Oldest Couple" by Francis Ruyter. The »bidding war« ended at USD 13,750.00 (€ 12,133.78), 38% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francis Ruyter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work City of Women, which sold at auction in February 2007 for USD 42,000.00 (€ 31,746.03).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit Arthur Rothstein "Hayti, Missouri. Cotton Carnival. Oldest Couple" von Francis Ruyter zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 12.133,78) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Francis Ruyter mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit City of Women beobachtet, die im Februar 2007 für USD 42.000,00 (€ 31.746,03) versteigert wurde.
