The work Enjoy the New Fragrance (Tamara de Lempicka for Greed) by Francesco Vezzoli was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Phillips in New York in May 2016. The »bidding war« ended at USD 75,000.00 (€ 67,355.19), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francesco Vezzoli - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Veruschka, which sold at auction in October 2007 for GBP 156,500.00 (€ 224,744.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Enjoy the New Fragrance (Tamara de Lempicka for Greed) von Francesco Vezzoli wurde im Mai 2016 in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 75.000,00 (€ 67.355,19) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Francesco Vezzoli mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Veruschka beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für GBP 156.500,00 (€ 224.744,30) versteigert wurde.
