Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Don’T Look Back by Fiona Banner was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in December 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,625.00 (€ 1,418.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fiona Banner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beagle Punctuation in February 2015 with an auction result of GBP 20,000.00 (€ 27,577.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Don’T Look Back von Fiona Banner kam im Dezember 2018 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.625,00 (€ 1.418,47) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fiona Banner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Beagle Punctuation im Februar 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.000,00 (€ 27.577,03).
