I’m interested in what pictures can do. They can convey all this intense action at once, so that’s kind of turning the heroism round and using it in my own way. I’ve always been interested in the limitation and the power of description. Descriptions of how things look or appear, or disappear for that matter. What I’m doing in words could start with painting a still life; but the subject of a still life is still and a move is in motion – very fast in the case of car-chases. I suppose it

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Car Chases (French Connection) and Car Chases (Bullitt) by Fiona Banner was sold in the Modern/British Art Online auction at Christies in London in November 2017. The price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,094.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fiona Banner - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Beagle Punctuation, which sold at auction in February 2015 for GBP 20,000.00 (€ 27,577.03).

Die Arbeit Car Chases (French Connection) and Car Chases (Bullitt) von Fiona Banner wurde im November 2017 in der Auktion Modern/British Art Online bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.094,68) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Fiona Banner mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Beagle Punctuation beobachtet, die im Februar 2015 für GBP 20.000,00 (€ 27.577,03) versteigert wurde.
