Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Ampersand by Fiona Banner was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 18,000.00 – 25,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 24,809.12). Other works by Fiona Banner have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in February 2015 by the work Beagle Punctuation at GBP 20,000.00 (€ 27,577.03).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Ampersand von Fiona Banner im Juli 2015 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 18.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 17.500,00 (€ 24.809,12) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Fiona Banner wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Februar 2015 die Arbeit Beagle Punctuation mit GBP 20.000,00 (€ 27.577,03).
