Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Only Moving Thing by Elliott Hundley was sold in the Contemporary Curated auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,459.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Elliott Hundley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landslide in September 2012 with an auction result of USD 158,500.00 (€ 123,288.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Only Moving Thing von Elliott Hundley wurde im September 2016 in der Auktion Contemporary Curated bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 14.459,87) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Elliott Hundley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landslide im September 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 158.500,00 (€ 123.288,74).
