Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work Ruby Dee by Ellen Gallagher. The price achieved of USD 4,410.00 (€ 3,786.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ellen Gallagher achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Deluxe in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 987,750.00 (€ 760,509.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Editions & Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ruby Dee von Ellen Gallagher zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.410,00 (€ 3.786,38) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ellen Gallagher erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Deluxe im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 987.750,00 (€ 760.509,70).
