This artwork by Ellen Gallagher achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2013. In the Post-War & Contemporary Afternoon Session auction, the work Deluxe sold for USD 987,750.00 (€ 760,509.70) - well above the upper estimate of USD 350,000.00. This high result makes Deluxe the most expensive artwork by Ellen Gallagher that we have observed at auctions so far.
