Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Protester by Elizabeth Catlett was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2020. The price achieved of USD 23,940.00 (€ 20,554.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Elizabeth Catlett have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Woman Fixing Her Hair in April 2014 with an auction result of USD 149,000.00 (€ 107,426.10).

Die Arbeit The Protester von Elizabeth Catlett kam im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 23.940,00 (€ 20.554,65) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden.
