In May last year Bonhams in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples, which included the work Paulina; African American (2 works) by Elizabeth Catlett. The »bidding war« ended at USD 7,650.00 (€ 7,128.88), 39% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Elizabeth Catlett achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woman Fixing Her Hair in April 2014 with an auction result of USD 149,000.00 (€ 107,426.10).

Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Paulina; African American (2 works) von Elizabeth Catlett zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 7.650,00 (€ 7.128,88) und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Elizabeth Catlett erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Woman Fixing Her Hair im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 149.000,00 (€ 107.426,10).
