Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 18,900.00 (€ 16,227.35) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Elizabeth Catlett have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Woman Fixing Her Hair in April 2014 with an auction result of USD 149,000.00 (€ 107,426.10).

Die Arbeit Standing Mother And Child von Elizabeth Catlett kam im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 18.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 18.900,00 (€ 16.227,35) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
