In October 2013 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Empty Kitchen For 5 Months #04 by Eko Nugroho. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,068.49), 46% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eko Nugroho achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Seneng Kuwi Larang Regane (Happiness is Expensive to Buy) in November 2021 with an auction result of HKD 693,000.00 (€ 77,054.58).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 46 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2013 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Empty Kitchen For 5 Months #04 von Eko Nugroho zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.750,00 (€ 2.068,49) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eko Nugroho erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Seneng Kuwi Larang Regane (Happiness is Expensive to Buy) im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 693.000,00 (€ 77.054,58).
