A top price for Eko Nugroho - as previously expected
In November 2021 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Art | Hong Kong, which included the work Seneng Kuwi Larang Regane (Happiness is Expensive to Buy) by Eko Nugroho. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 600,000.00 – 1,200,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 693,000.00 (€ 77,054.58) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Seneng Kuwi Larang Regane (Happiness is Expensive to Buy) is the most expensive artwork by Eko Nugroho that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im November 2021 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Art | Hong Kong durch, in der auch die Arbeit Seneng Kuwi Larang Regane (Happiness is Expensive to Buy) von Eko Nugroho zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 600.000,00 – 1.200.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 693.000,00 (€ 77.054,58) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Seneng Kuwi Larang Regane (Happiness is Expensive to Buy) das teuerste Kunstwerk von Eko Nugroho, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
