Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Instead Of Independent I by Eko Nugroho was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2020. The price achieved of HKD 151,200.00 (€ 16,746.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Admittedly, works by Eko Nugroho have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Seneng Kuwi Larang Regane (Happiness is Expensive to Buy) in November 2021 with an auction result of HKD 693,000.00 (€ 77,054.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Instead Of Independent I von Eko Nugroho wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 151.200,00 (€ 16.746,63) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Eko Nugroho auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Seneng Kuwi Larang Regane (Happiness is Expensive to Buy) im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 693.000,00 (€ 77.054,58).
