Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work Evening Wind (L. 77) by Edward Hopper. The price achieved of USD 27,940.00 (€ 26,438.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Hopper achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chop Suey in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 91,875,000.00 (€ 81,140,157.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Editions & Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Evening Wind (L. 77) von Edward Hopper zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 27.940,00 (€ 26.438,30) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Hopper erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Chop Suey im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 91.875.000,00 (€ 81.140.157,20).
