This artwork by Edward Hopper achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in December this year. In the Prints and Multiples auction, the work Night in the Park sold for GBP 74,060.00 (€ 85,314.28) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Hopper achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chop Suey in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 91,875,000.00 (€ 81,140,157.20).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Edward Hopper erzielte im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Prints and Multiples wurde die Arbeit Night in the Park für GBP 74.060,00 (€ 85.314,28) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Hopper erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Chop Suey im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 91.875.000,00 (€ 81.140.157,20).
