Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Night Shadows, from Six American Etchings (Series I) by Edward Hopper was sold in the Prints & Multiples auction at Bonhams in London in October this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 25,600.00 (€ 24,224.07) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Hopper achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chop Suey in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 91,875,000.00 (€ 81,140,157.20).
