Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In February 2007 Christies in New York held the auction First Open Post-War and Contemporary Art, which included the work Beagle in a Basket by Duane Hanson. Here, the upper estimate of USD 45,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 48,000.00 (€ 36,281.18). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Duane Hanson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cowboy in May last year with an auction result of USD 428,400.00 (€ 399,217.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Februar 2007 führte Christies in New York die Auktion First Open Post-War and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Beagle in a Basket von Duane Hanson zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 45.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 48.000,00 (€ 36.281,18) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Duane Hanson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cowboy im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 428.400,00 (€ 399.217,22).
