Auction result misses estimated price range

This work of art by Diana Thater could be acquired at Phillips in New York in April last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Editions & Works on Paper auction, the work Portrait of Josephine changed hands for USD 1,890.00 (€ 1,793.68) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Diana Thater achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Perpetual Motion Two in September 2010 with an auction result of GBP 49,250.00 (€ 56,962.85).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Dieses Kunstwerk von Diana Thater konnte im April letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper wechselte die Arbeit Portrait of Josephine für USD 1.890,00 (€ 1.793,68) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Diana Thater erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Perpetual Motion Two im September 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 49.250,00 (€ 56.962,85).
