Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Zwirner & Wirth Exhibition (January 7-February 5) #2 by Diana Thater for USD 500.00 (€ 441.23). This price was achieved in the auction The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Diana Thater achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Perpetual Motion Two in September 2010 with an auction result of GBP 49,250.00 (€ 56,962.85).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Zwirner & Wirth Exhibition (January 7-February 5) #2 von Diana Thater für USD 500,00 (€ 441,23) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Diana Thater erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Perpetual Motion Two im September 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 49.250,00 (€ 56.962,85).
