Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Varnished Lines by David Whittaker was sold in the New Now auction at Phillips in London in April 2019. The price achieved of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 29,082.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Whittaker - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Self Portrait Four, Jewel Box (The Broads, Thunder Showers, Late Afternoon, A Young Girl in Reflection, Poetics of the Past Never Forgotten), which sold at auction in March 2018 for GBP 81,250.00 (€ 92,507.61).
