Auction result well in line with expectations
The work HOURS FROM by David Whittaker was sold in the New Now auction at Phillips in London in December 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,300.00 (€ 7,514.58) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Whittaker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self Portrait Four, Jewel Box (The Broads, Thunder Showers, Late Afternoon, A Young Girl in Reflection, Poetics of the Past Never Forgotten) in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 81,250.00 (€ 92,507.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit HOURS FROM von David Whittaker wurde im Dezember 2021 in der Auktion New Now bei Phillips in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.300,00 (€ 7.514,58) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Whittaker erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Self Portrait Four, Jewel Box (The Broads, Thunder Showers, Late Afternoon, A Young Girl in Reflection, Poetics of the Past Never Forgotten) im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 81.250,00 (€ 92.507,61).
