It achieved a price of GBP 18,900.00 (€ 22,190.38), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 58%. Admittedly, works by David Whittaker have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Self Portrait Four, Jewel Box (The Broads, Thunder Showers, Late Afternoon, A Young Girl in Reflection, Poetics of the Past Never Forgotten) in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 81,250.00 (€ 92,507.61).
