Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Curated, which included this untitled work by Dan Walsh. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,625.00 (€ 9,518.90) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Dan Walsh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Red Diptych II in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 87,500.00 (€ 64,149.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Curated durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Dan Walsh zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 9.518,90) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Dan Walsh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Red Diptych II im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 64.149,56).
