This artwork by Dan Christensen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2017. In the Contemporary Curated featuring works from “In Its Own Light: Property from the Collection of Ed Cohen and Victoria Shaw” auction, the work Ganymede sold for USD 27,500.00 (€ 25,705.74) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Dan Christensen; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Alioth sold at auction in October 2020 with the realized price of USD 52,920.00 (€ 45,436.59).

In der Auktion Contemporary Curated featuring works from “In Its Own Light: Property from the Collection of Ed Cohen and Victoria Shaw” wurde die Arbeit Ganymede für USD 27.500,00 (€ 25.705,74) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00.
