Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Dan Christensen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2017. In the Contemporary Curated featuring works from “In Its Own Light: Property from the Collection of Ed Cohen and Victoria Shaw” auction, the work Ganymede sold for USD 27,500.00 (€ 25,705.74) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Dan Christensen; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Alioth sold at auction in October 2020 with the realized price of USD 52,920.00 (€ 45,436.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Dan Christensen erzielte im März 2017 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Curated featuring works from “In Its Own Light: Property from the Collection of Ed Cohen and Victoria Shaw” wurde die Arbeit Ganymede für USD 27.500,00 (€ 25.705,74) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Dan Christensen; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Alioth im Oktober 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 52.920,00 (€ 45.436,59).
