Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Virginia, 1994 by Dan Christensen was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in September 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,075.00 (€ 12,864.82) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dan Christensen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Alioth, which sold at auction in October 2020 for USD 52,920.00 (€ 45,436.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Virginia, 1994 von Dan Christensen kam im September 2020 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.075,00 (€ 12.864,82) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Dan Christensen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Alioth beobachtet, die im Oktober 2020 für USD 52.920,00 (€ 45.436,59) versteigert wurde.
