This artwork by Dan Christensen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in December 2018. In the Property from the Collection of Harry W. and Mary Margaret Anderson Online auction, the work Hydra sold for USD 50,000.00 (€ 43,645.25) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Dan Christensen; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Alioth sold at auction in October 2020 with the realized price of USD 52,920.00 (€ 45,436.59).
