Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Friend by Cris Brodahl was auctioned at Christies in New York in December 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,750.00 (€ 2,287.47). Admittedly, works by Cris Brodahl have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Jean Genie in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 32,500.00 (€ 22,607.12).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Friend von Cris Brodahl im Dezember 2017 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.750,00 (€ 2.287,47) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cris Brodahl auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Jean Genie im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 22.607,12).
