Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Tower by Chuck Connelly was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 4,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,750.00 (€ 2,408.79). Other works by Chuck Connelly have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in March 2009 by the work without title at USD 5,625.00 (€ 4,241.76).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Tower von Chuck Connelly im April 2008 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.750,00 (€ 2.408,79) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Chuck Connelly wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im März 2009 die Arbeit ohne Titel mit USD 5.625,00 (€ 4.241,76).
